We are a group of published, established and aspiring writers, meeting in Harpenden with members coming from a wide area.  There are two monthly session meetings: one session is our published programme of activities and speakers, and in parallel with this, we hold separate monthly 'Meet to Write' sessions if you want to schedule some quiet time to simply write.  The programme meetings  include opportunities to share work, hold read around session, and receive feedback.

Are you looking for new ideas?  Do you like to talk writing with like-minded people?  Here is an opportunity to meet new contacts, develop your writing skills, focus on your writing project, and make friends.  Why not come along to one of our meetings - there is no charge for attending the first time.  Thereafter, a charge of £5 is made for a read-around or £6 when there is a guest speaker or simply become a member with an annual subscription for £60.

 

The published programme meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at 12 Southdown Road (The Friends' Meeting House) with sessions that run from September to July (no meeting in August).  We have meetings led by professional writers, in addition to read arounds, special events, and annual prose and poetry writing competitions.
